As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Aug. 3:
On 07/29/2026 deputies were sent to an address on CTH JJ in the Town of Rock Falls for a domestic disturbance in progress. It was reported that the victim had been choked and thrown around by the suspect. When deputies arrived, they made contact with the victim, who told the deputies what had transpired. During the time when the victim was talking with the deputies, the suspect snuck out the back door of the residence and fled. The deputies will forward a report to the district attorney requesting charges of disorderly and strangulation. The victim was provided a ride to a safe location for the night.
On 07/29/2026 a deputy on patrol conducted a traffic stop on E. River St. and N. 4th St. in the City of Tomahawk for a vehicle with expired registration. When stopped the deputy made contact with the driver, a Milwaukee woman. While speaking with the woman, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. The deputy asked the woman if she would do some sobriety tests, which she agreed to do. As a result of those tests, the deputy placed her under arrest for a first offense of OWI. She was later released to a responsible party.
On 08/01/2026 a deputy on patrol stopped a UTV on CTH C and Norwegian Rd. in the Town of Merrill for traveling 64 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. The deputy made contact with the driver, a Merrill man, and noticed signs of impairment. The man was asked to perform sobriety tests, but refused to do so. As a result, he was placed under arrest for operating a UTV while intoxicated. The deputy obtained a warrant to collect the man’s blood. The man remained uncooperative with the process until it was explained to him that he would go to jail with more charges. The man cooperated at that time. He was later released to a responsible party.
Deputies conducted 34 traffic stops and 32 security checks.
Deputies responded to three car vs. deer crashes.
