Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: Dec. 1, 2025

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Dec. 1:

On 11/26/2025 the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a crash with injuries on CTH K near Progress Ave. in the Township of Merrill. Deputies arrived on scene and located the vehicle overturned with one person trapped inside. Once the driver, a Merrill man, 57, was able to get out of the vehicle, deputies spoke with him. The driver stated he lost control of his vehicle on a patch of ice. The passenger, a Merrill woman, 59, received a leg injury as a result of the crash. Both parties were transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital by MFD ambulances. The crash is still under investigation.

On 11/26/2025 deputies were sent to an address on Ainsworth Ave. in the Township of Birch for domestic disturbance in progress. The R/P stated that his son and son’s girlfriend were fighting and that she was physically assaulting him and damaging things around the house. It was also reported at one point, the girlfriend had attempted to arm herself with a hammer. Upon arriving on scene, deputies made contact with the victim, who reported he did receive injuries during the fight and his property was damaged. The girlfriend, an Irma woman, 27, was placed under arrest and transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where she was booked for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. She was then turned over to jail staff.

On 11/27/2025 deputies were sent to the area of the W2000 block of Prairie Forks Dr. for a vehicle rolled over upside down in the Prairie River in the Township of Russell. It was also reported that the driver, a 51 year old man from Gleason man, 51, received minor injuries. When deputies arrived on scene, they spoke with the driver, and he reported he had been S/B on Prairie Forks Dr. when he lost control of his vehicle on slippery roads. The vehicle struck a bridge embankment before rolling over and coming to final rest in the Prairie River. The man was able to exit the vehicle through a back door prior to the cab filling with water. The man refused medical transport. The vehicle was removed from the river by Rod’s Wrecker.

On 11/29/2025 deputies were sent to the area of STH 17 and Schiller Dr. in the Township of Merrill for a motor vehicle crash/rollover with injuries. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the driver, a Racine man, 19, who reported he was S/B on STH 17 when he lost control of his vehicle on slippery roads. The vehicle started to fishtail before it entered the ditch, struck a culvert and rolled to final rest. Both the driver and his passenger a Racine woman, 19, were sore from the crash and checked out by MFD ambulances, but refused transport.

Deputies conducted 12 traffic stops and 23 security checks.

Deputies responded to eight car vs. deer crashes.
