As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Jan. 5:
On 12/29/2025 deputies were sent to an address on Pope Rd. in the Town of Merrill for a disturbance in progress. It was reported that a Merrill woman, 36, was having difficulty with 16-year-old son’s behavior, and when she went to take his phone away from him, he struck her. The juvenile, who left the scene prior to a deputy’s arrival, was soon located and taken into custody. The juvenile was transported to a relative’s house, and a report will be sent to social services.
On 12/30/2025 deputies were sent to an address on Sanctuary Rd. in the Town of Tomahawk for a disturbance in progress involving a knife. The victim, a Tomahawk man, 56, was reporting that his son, a Tomahawk man, 27, had gone after him with a knife. During the disturbance, the son also started a fire in the house; however, the victim was able to put the fire out. The victim then locked himself in a room and waited for law enforcement to arrive. Once deputies arrived on scene, the son was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was booked for arson of a building, second degree reckless endangering safety, bail jumping, disorderly conduct and negligent handling of burning materials. Names are being held for the privacy of the victim.
On 12/31/2025 deputies were sent to an address on CTH Y in the Town of Bradley for a disturbance in progress involving a knife. The initial reporter, who was not on scene, was reporting a disturbance between a male and female, both 18. The female was reported to be pregnant and threatened to harm herself with the knife. Dispatch was able to establish communications with the female and get her to calm down. The woman then reported that she did cut her finger while she was cutting food. The woman was then transported to Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Following that, she was placed under arrest for felony bail jumping, disorderly conduct while armed and battery. She was then transported to Lincoln County Jail, where she was booked for those charges.
On 1/2/2026 a deputy was dispatched to the area of STH 107 and Swede Rd. in the Town of Merrill for a possible vehicle in the ditch. Upon arrival in the area, the deputy did locate the vehicle that was reportedly in the ditch. It appeared as though the driver was attempting to make a turn onto Swede Rd. when he went into the snow bank. The deputy went to make contact with the driver, a Merrill man, 57. In speaking with the man, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. The deputy asked the driver to perform some sobriety tests, which he agreed to do. As a result of those tests, he was placed under arrest for a first offense of OWI. The man was later turned over to corrections officers at the Lincoln County Jail.
On 1/3/2026 a deputy was dispatched to the area of Dudley Rd. and Town Hall Rd. in the Town of Russell for a possible vehicle in the ditch. The R/P reported that a female had knocked at her door and reported that they had gone in the ditch. Upon arrival in the area, the deputy did locate the vehicle in the ditch. The deputy made contact with the driver, a Gleason man, who appeared to be impaired. In speaking with the driver, the deputy noticed several signs of impairment and asked the driver to perform some sobriety tests. The driver agreed to the tests, and as a result was placed under arrest for 5th offense OWI. The driver was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana. He was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to corrections staff for booking.
On 1/4/2026 deputies were dispatched to an address on CTH T in the Town of Somo for a vehicle in the ditch and a burglary. The R/P was reporting that a vehicle went into the ditch in the area of the address, and the parties from the vehicle broke into his building. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the suspect, a Mosinee man, 60, who denied breaking into the building. Deputies investigated the scene and located fresh foot prints in the snow from the suspect, and they were able to follow the footprints to and inside the building that had been broken into. The building itself had been damaged, with a door being broken down. Items that had been taken from the building were lying around the suspect’s vehicle. As a result, the suspect was placed under arrest for burglary, criminal damage to property, bail jumping and resisting/obstructing an officer. He was then transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was booked on the listed charges.
Deputies conducted 24 traffic stops and 54 security checks.
