Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: July 27, 2026

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, July 27:

On 07/25/2026 deputies were sent to the area of North Star Dr. and Swede Rd. in the Town of Rock Falls for a one-car crash with injuries. The driver, an Irma male, 17, had been traveling E/B on North Star Dr. when he drifted into the north ditch before striking a culvert and becoming airborne. The vehicle then hit a utility pole and rolled to final rest on its side. The driver sustained minor injuries in the crash, but refused medical treatment.

On 07/25/2026 the Sheriff’s Office took a driving complaint of a vehicle driving all over the road and acting suspiciously. When a deputy arrived in the area, he located a vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle that the report was about. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for the driving behavior that was reported and for the vehicle not having license plates. When the deputy made contact with the driver, an Arpin man, he admitted that he was intoxicated. The deputy also saw signs of impairment. The man was asked to perform some sobriety tests, which he refused to do. As a result the man was arrested for a second offense of OWI and was transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to jail staff.

On 07/25/2026 a deputy on patrol observed a vehicle traveling on CTH U near Taylor Ln. in the Town of Bradley. The deputy stopped the vehicle based on the observed driving behavior. When the deputy went to make contact with the driver, a Prentice woman, he noticed signs of impairment. The deputy asked the woman to perform some sobriety tests, which she agreed to do. As a result of those tests, she was placed under arrest for a first offense of OWI. The woman was later released to a responsible party.

On 07/26/2026 a deputy on patrol observed a vehicle traveling on S. Tomahawk Ave. near Southgate Dr. in the City of Tomahawk operating in hours of darkness with no working taillights. Based on the violations observed, the deputy stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, a Sun Prairie man. In making contact with the driver, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. The deputy asked the driver if he would perform some sobriety tests, which he agreed to do. As a result of those tests, the deputy placed the man under arrest for a first offense of OWI. The man was later released to a responsible party.

On 07/26/2026 the 911 center received a call of a motorcycle vs. deer crash with injuries on CTH X near CTH C in the Town of Schley. The driver of the motorcycle, a Merrill man, reported striking a deer while operating his motorcycle. The man reported receiving minor injuries from striking the deer, but refused medical attention. The deer reportedly ran off after being hit.

Deputies conducted 35 traffic stops and 31 security checks.           

Deputies responded to six car vs. deer crashes, one car vs. bear and one car vs. coyote.
