As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, July 6:
On 06/30/2026 deputies were called to the Rock Island Resort on STH 107 in the Town of Merrill for a disturbance in progress. It was reported that a male subject was causing problems and shooting a nail gun at people and vehicles. When the first deputy arrived on scene, they found the suspect sitting in his truck. The deputy made contact with the suspect, a Merrill man. The deputy requested that the man step out of his vehicle several times, but he refused. The deputy then removed the man from the car and placed handcuffs on him. The man resisted the deputies’ attempts to do this. Witnesses reported that the man was with a group of people on a boat, when he started acting disorderly and pushed someone overboard. Daniel was then dropped off at the Rock Island Resort when he continued with his behavior, shooting nails at people and cars. The man was arrested and booked into the Lincoln County Jail for battery, disorderly conduct, endangering safety/use/dangerous weapon and resisting/obstructing an officer.
On 07/2/2026 deputies were sent to the area of STH 17 and CTH G in the Town of Schley for a two-car crash with injuries. In speaking with the driver, deputies determined that one car was slowed or stopped in traffic when the second vehicle attempted to pass the slower vehicle right as the slower vehicle began to turn. The two vehicles collided. One party sustained a minor laceration to his arm. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by their owners.
On 07/04/2026 a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle on USH 8 by CTH U in the Town of Bradley for a speeding violation and lane deviation. Once stopped, the deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle, a Madison man, and noticed signs of impairment. The deputy asked the man to perform some sobriety tests, which he agreed to do. As a result of those tests, the man was placed under arrest for a first offense of OWI. The man was later released to a responsible party.
On 07/04/2026 deputies were sent to an address on Parrish Rd. in the Town of Harrison for a disturbance in progress. It was further reported that a female at that address had struck a male two times. When deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with victim/initial reporter, who was not very cooperative with the deputies. The female suspect, a Wausau woman, ran into the woods, but was soon located and escorted back to the address. During the process, the woman remained resistive and uncooperative. She was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. She was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail.
Deputies conducted 50 traffic stops and 19 security checks.
Deputies responded to seven car vs. deer crashes and one car vs. chicken.
