Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: June 29, 2026

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, June 29:

On 06/24/2026 deputies were called to an address on Snow Flake Ln. in the Town of Merrill for a disturbance in progress. A female reported that she went to an address on Snow Flake Ln. to try and serve some civil process papers on the property owner. When she made contact with the man, he advised he was not accepting the papers and told the female to leave his property. The female reported that as she was doing this, the man went in his house, came back outside and fired a shot from a gun. The female stated she also saw the man in possession of a gun. When deputies made contact with the man, he confirmed his contact with the female. The man stated he also confirmed shooting a gun, but it was in the backyard, and he was target practicing. The man will be issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

On 06/27/2026 deputies were sent to the area of STH 17 and CTH X in the Town of Russell for a motorcycle vs. deer crash with injuries. It was reported that the driver was breathing and had a major head injury. When deputies arrived on scene, they learned that the motorcycle was N/B on STH 17 when it struck a deer that had ran out into the road. The driver, a Gleason man, 24, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was transported by ground ambulance to Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Deputies conducted 34 traffic stops and 24 security checks.                                         

Deputies responded to 13 car vs. deer crashes.
