Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report: Sept. 21, 2026

As reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Monday, Sept. 21:

On 09/17/2026 deputies were dispatched to Holly’s on CTH N in the Town of Bradley for a disturbance in progress. It was reported that someone driving a red truck was trying to hit the R/P following a verbal argument that had occurred. After a short time, the deputies located the suspect vehicle and conducted a stop on it. They made contact with the driver, a Greenleaf man. In speaking with the man, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. As such the deputy asked Garrett if he would perform some sobriety tests which he agreed to do. As a result of those tests, the man was placed under arrest for a second offense of OWI. The man was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to corrections officers.  

On 09/11/2026 deputies were sent to the USH 51 Truck Stop in the Town of Scott for a disturbance in progress. It was reported that there was a male subject that had been sleeping in the woods, but was now presently walking around in the parking lot naked from the waist down. When deputies arrived on scene they located the suspect, a Merrill man, near the dumpster with no clothes on from the waist down. The man advised he had been getting a ride from a taxi when they had an argument and the taxi driver dropped him off at the truck stop. The man stated he went to the woods to lie down and sleep for a while, and when he woke up, his clothes were wet. The man stated he took his pants off because they were wet, and he intended on looking for new clothes. The man was located by the dumpster, as he was trying to hide so people wouldn’t see him. The man was placed under arrest for misdemeanor bail jumping, lewd and lascivious behavior in public, as well as a probation violation. He was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was turned over to jail staff.

On 09/18/2026 deputies were sent to the area of USH 51 and CTH J in the Town of Birch for a reckless driver reported to be operating all over the road. The first deputy that arrived in the area located the suspect vehicle and observed similar driving habits that had been originally reported to the Sheriff’s Office. As a result of this, the deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and went to make contact with the driver. After speaking with the driver, a Waupaca man, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. The deputy asked the man if he would be willing to do some sobriety tests, which he agreed to do. As a result of those tests, the man was placed under arrest for a 4th offense of OWI. He was later transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where he was held, pending a Monday afternoon court hearing.

On 09/18/2026 deputies were sent to the W1000 block of CTH D in the Town of Harrison for a reported motorcycle vs, deer crash with injuries. Deputies learned that a motorcycle was being operated by a man, 57, from Hulbert, Mich., man who had been traveling on CTH D in the Town of Harrison when he struck a deer that had walked in the road in front of his motorcycle. As a result of the collision, the man suffered rib and leg injuries.

On 09/19/2026 deputies were sent to an address on Somo Lake Dr. in the Town of Wilson for a disturbance in progress. It was reported that a female suspect was attacking a male party and accusing him of assaulting her. Prior to deputies’ arrival, the female suspect left the scene on foot. Deputies spoke with the male subject and others that were present at the time of the disturbance. They searched unsuccessfully for the female suspect. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Tomahawk Police Department and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. A report will be completed, and two counts of disorderly conduct will be referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office for charging.

On 09/20/2023 a subject pulled out onto CTH L from CTH N in the Town of Bradley in front of three motorcycles. The motorcycle operators were required to take evasive maneuvers to avoid a serious collision. As a result of those evasive maneuvers, they crossed the center line and almost struck a Lincoln County Squad car in the area. As a result, the deputy stopped the vehicle that caused the chain reaction incident, and went to make contact with the driver, a New London man. In speaking with the driver, the deputy noticed signs of impairment. The deputy asked the man to perform some sobriety tests, which he agreed to do. As a result of those tests, he was placed under arrest for a first offense of OWI. He was later released to a responsible party.

Deputies conducted 44 traffic stops and 16 security checks.

Deputies investigated four car vs. deer crashes and one car vs. bear crash.
