Lincoln County task force offering grants to fight opioid crisis

Posted

LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Opioid Settlement Task Force last week announced a new grant program utilizing funds received from a national legal settlement with major drug companies over the widespread damage caused by opioid misuse.

A release from the Task Force and the Lincoln County Health Department (LCHD) said funding available through the program will support projects across the county to combat the serious problems caused by the opioid crisis.

“We want to make a lasting difference by supporting community ideas, offering direct help and finding long-term solutions to the opioid epidemic,” the release stated.

The Task Force has created a clear plan to distribute the money openly and fairly, according to the release.

“We believe that the best ideas will come from our local community,” said Erin Ray, Opioid Settlement Task Force Coordinator. “We are eager to see the creative projects organizations propose to help our residents and make a real impact with this funding.”

Local community groups, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, schools and organizations that serve youth and families can apply for funding.

A total of $50,000.00 is available, with an award of up to $10,000.00 per application.

Applications must be received by 4:59 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2026.
