Local Scouts donate 700 lbs. of food to Tomahawk pantry through ‘Scouting for Food’ event

TOMAHAWK – Tomahawk’s Boy Scouts Troop 548 and Cub Scouts Pack 548 last week thanked the community for participating in their annual “Scouting for Food” event.

On Monday, April 13, Scouts and parents distributed yellow door knockers throughout the community, asking for donations for the Tomahawk Emergency Food Pantry. The Scouts collected food donations placed on doorsteps on Saturday, April 18.

Pack 548 Secretary Christina Schultz said a total of 700 pounds of food was collected this past weekend.

“A special thank you to the food pantry volunteers that worked side by side with the Scouts to organize the food donations,” Schultz stated. “We thank the community for their generosity and continued support for this great cause.”
