Mark A. Anderson, age 75, of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, at Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff, Wis. Mark was born in Rhinelander, Wis., on Nov. 10, 1948, to Glen E. and Helen (Kelley) Anderson. He was married to Peggy Riley on Aug. 24, 1968; she survives.
Mark grew up in Rhinelander where he attended St. Mary’s Catholic School through sixth grade, then went to the Rhinelander Junior High, and was a 1967 graduate of Rhinelander High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 1967 to 1971. Mark started work at Fletcher’s Barbershop as a shoeshine boy from 1960 to 1961. He then worked at Holiday Gas Station from 1964 to 1967 and was a summer college worker at the Rhinelander Fire Department from 1967 to 1968. While in college, he worked for UPS, Del Monte, and drove school bus for Whiting Bus Co. Mark later worked for Triumph Twist Drill (1971-1972), Daniel’s Packaging of Rhinelander (1972-1979), Hammerblow Corp. of Wausau (1979-1980), Fiesta/C-Way Corp. of Colby (1980-1984), and the DOD Defense Contract Management Service of Rockford, Ill., and Antigo (1984-2010). Mark served many years as an officer with the Killarney Lake Association and served one term as the Town of Little Rice Supervisor. Mark loved playing baseball and was a baseball coach, umpire, and officer in many leagues. He enjoyed his family and friends, fishing and hunting, going on walks, and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy; his daughters, Angela Marie Petroski (Larry Seidel), of Wausau, Wis., and Patricia Lynn (Terry) Cota, of Wausau, Wis.; and his son, Michael Devon Anderson (Nikki Guthu), of Coolidge, Ariz. He is further survived by his brother, Kevin Anderson, of Tomahawk; his sister, Kathy Kennedy, of Rhinelander, Wis.; his grandchildren, Jessi Petroski (James Butts), Amanda Petroski, Matt Demeuse, and Megan (Jack) Forseth; and his great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Xavier, Noah, and Shailey Butts, and Melanie Mazsk.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jon Edward, in 1976; his granddaughter, Samantha Jo Petroski, in 1991; and his grandson, Daniel Petroski Jr., in 2022.

A memorial service for Mark Anderson was held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, at the Nokomis Town Hall, at 11:30 a.m.
