ONEIDA COUNTY – An Oneida County Corrections Officer was arrested this week on two felony charges.
Jacob Petitt, 26, of Rhinelander, was taken into custody on Tuesday, Jan. 12 and charged with solicitation of prostitution and misconduct in public office.
An investigation involved Petitt, employed by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer, “having contact with females who had been incarcerated at the Oneida County Jail,” according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Petitt made his initial court appearance on Wednesday, Jan. 13. He is scheduled to appear again on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 4 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.
