Park City Cares Foundation supports local food pantries

Posted

NORTHERN WISCONSIN – The Park City Cares Foundation recently contributed to local food pantries.

A total of $4,000.00 was distributed among five area pantries, including two in the Tomahawk area.

The Tomahawk and Nokomis food pantries each received $500.00 from the Foundation, while the Merrill, Rhinelander and Lakeland pantries each received $1,000.00.

In a release, the Foundation said the donations were made at a “crucial time” to “help local food pantries meet the growing demand for assistance in our communities,” noting that pantries across the region have “reported a steady increase in utilization, reflecting the challenges many families are facing.”

“At the Park City Cares Foundation, we believe in standing alongside our neighbors during times of need,” said Melissa Wrycha, President of the Park City Cares Foundation. “Food insecurity affects so many families, and we are proud to partner with local food pantries to ensure that no one goes hungry. Supporting these essential resources is at the heart of our mission to strengthen and uplift the communities we serve.”

The Foundation said monetary donations provide pantries with the flexibility to purchase items that fit the needs of their community.

“Furthermore, every dollar given is equal to about five dollars of food,” the Foundation added. ”Food is often purchased wholesale and from local grocery stores offering discounts.”

The Foundation said it “remains dedicated to making a positive impact through charitable giving and community support initiatives.”
