TOMAHAWK – The City of Tomahawk Health and Safety Committee this week gave the thumbs up to six special event permit applications.
The applications were approved during the committee’s meeting at City Hall on Tuesday, March 31.
The Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce’s National Night Out will return to Veterans Memorial Park on Tuesday, Aug. 4. According to the application, National Night Out is a community-building campaign that promotes police and community, focusing on partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Local non-profits and businesses will be part of the event.
Another Chamber event slated to be back later this year is the Bonfire and Brat Fry. The event, which serves as a kickoff to Northwoods Fall Ride, will be held at SARA Park on Thursday, Sept. 17, and along with the brat fry, will feature a bonfire and live music.
Tomahawk Main Street Inc. will once again sponsor a pair of longtime Tomahawk events. The Thunder Parade – an 18-mile procession of motorcycles during Northwoods Fall Ride – is scheduled for the evening of Friday, Sept. 18, while Main Street’s downtown Fall Ride festivities, including street dances, live music and vendors, will be held from Thursday, Sept. 17 through Saturday, Sept. 19.
The committee also approved a permit application for Fall Ride events at SARA Park. The Chamber and Wa Wui LTD will sponsor live music and a beer tent, with festivities occurring from Thursday, Sept. 17 through Saturday, Sept. 19.
The final application given the green light by the committee was for the 61st annual Venison Feed, sponsored by the Chamber and scheduled to be held on the west end of W. Wisconsin Ave. The event will feature free grilled venison burgers, as well as beverages for purchase.
The applications will be sent on the City of Tomahawk Common Council for final review.
