TOMAHAWK – Tomahawk High School (THS) Building Trades students recently gained hands-on experience by operating heavy equipment, including bulldozers, backhoes, mini-excavators and tractor loaders.

Instructor Andy Peissig said this unique opportunity “allowed students to explore the high-demand career of heavy equipment operation, an essential field in construction and infrastructure development.”

“Under the guidance of experienced instructors and with support from CASE Construction of Tomahawk, students learned the fundamentals of operating these powerful machines in a safe and controlled environment,” Peissig stated. “The program not only provides valuable skills, but also opens doors to future employment opportunities in the growing construction industry.”

Peissig noted that with the continued partnership of CASE Construction, the students are “well on their way to building successful careers in one of today’s most in-demand trades.”

“The hands-on experience has sparked interest in this rewarding career path, giving students a head start in a thriving field,” Peissig said.
