MERRILL – A Tomahawk woman charged with killing her husband has pleaded not guilty.
Michelle Sanderson, 44, appeared in Lincoln County Court on Wednesday, April 16, facing one felony count of first degree reckless homicide, one misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing an officer and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, each with a domestic abuse modifier. She is also charged with one misdemeanor count of bail jumping.
Court records show that Sanderson pleaded not guilty to all charges after a motion to dismiss the charges was denied by Judge Robert R. Russell.
Sanderson is accused of stabbing her husband, Richard “Ricky” Sanderson, 50, in the upper chest/lower throat area with a steak knife in the kitchen of their Tomahawk home on Thursday, Jan. 9.
According to a criminal complaint, Michelle Sanderson told authorities that she found Richard Sanderson outside already injured, but a third party claimed they witnessed the couple arguing before seeing the alleged stabbing occur.
Sanderson is scheduled to be back in court on Thursday, May 22, for a scheduling conference. She is currently being held on a $250,000.00 cash bond.
