Dennis “Denny” C. Ramthun, age 85, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at his home under the care of his family and Aspirus Hospice. Denny was born in Wausau, WI, on July 15, 1941, to the late Daniel and Marie (Buhse) Ramthun.
On November 14, 1964, Denny married Susan Rutter. Together, they built a home, raised their two children, and shared more than 61 years of marriage. Susan continues to reside at their home. Denny was a hardworking and dedicated man. He worked as an electrician for PCA for 41 years before retiring.
An outdoorsman at heart, Denny was happiest spending time outside. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping, and especially treasured the time spent making maple syrup with his dear friend, Dean, on Denny’s land. Above all, Denny will be remembered for his generous and kind nature, his quick wit, and his willingness to help others. He had a special way of bringing humor into the lives of those around him and was deeply devoted to the people he loved. His greatest joy was his family, and he also shared a special bond with his dog, Daisy.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Ramthun; his daughter, Kim (Dan) Arnott; his son, Danle “Cody” (Angie) Ramthun; and his sister, Diane (Howard) Ramthun. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Hannah (Austin) Arnott, Nick Arnott, Jack Ramthun, and Carter Ramthun. Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Marie; and his brother, Dale Ramthun.
