TOMAHAWK – The Tomahawk High School (THS) basketball team fell to Antigo and Black River Falls earlier this month.
Antigo
The Hatchets hosted the Antigo Red Robins in the Fieldhouse on Friday Dec. 5 and fell by a score of 61-23.
Coach Eric Neve said the Tomahawk boys struggled against the press, which led to a 48-12 halftime defecit.
“The second half didn't change offensively, but the boys showed up on defense, as they only scored nine in the second half, but allowed just 15 points,” Neve stated.
Ryan Montag led the Hatchets in scoring with nine points.
Black River Falls
Black River Falls traveled to Tomahawk on Saturday, Dec. 6 and came away with a 97-52 win over the Hatchets.
Neve noted that Tomahawk was looking to bounce back from the loss to Antigo the day prior.
“This showed, as the Hatchets scored 33 points in the first half, but the Tigers were just too much and pulled away in the second half,” Neve said.
The leading scorers for Tomahawk were Logan Norman with 17 points and 13 rebounds, Ryan Montag with 14 points, Colton Seslar with nine and Jeremiah Johnson with eight.
